In the latest edition of our Digital Health Institute for Transformation (DHIT) Happy Hour series, the DHIT team took the energy to Charlotte, North Carolina! Alongside Novant Health, Kapstone Medical, Launch Tower Health, sponsored by Duke University’s Master of Management in Clinical Informatics (MMCi), and in alignment with the Health Innovation Summit hosted by RevTech Labs, the DHIT team was joined by a large contingent of digital health transformers, clinicians, executives, technologists, and scholars at the Novant Health Innovation Lab for an immersive showcase of the most cutting edge technology solutions in the digital health ecosystem.

Attendees broke bread, drank wine, and viewed experiential digital health technologies firsthand. Among the innovative technologies on display were Agile City’s Point Motion’s gamification of rehab using music and motion through markerless motion capture technology, PrecisionOS’ solutions as the leading providers of VR surgical training for the medical industry, Penumbra’s innovative therapies for pain management, and Hyro’s sophisticated AI Chatbot for patient triage. Of particular note, Hyro will be featured in an upcoming webinar hosted by DHIT’s Michael Levy, who will be speaking about improving patient and clinician satisfaction and experience with advanced digital health technologies. The webinar is sponsored by Infermedica and will include DHIT’s Chief Clinical Advisor, Spencer Dorn, MD, MPH, MHA, Vice-Chair of Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill, George Gellert, MD, Medical Advisor, Impact/Value Demonstration at Infermedica, and Michael Blumental, the COO at Hyro.

Special thanks to Paula D. Kranz, the Vice President of Novant Health Innovation Enablement and Executive Director of the Novant Health Innovation Lab, and her team for co-headlining an incredibly rewarding experience for the DHIT family and digital health community at large. Paula said it best: “We covered it all. The challenges of digital transformation, behavior health, and surgical efficiency, as well as the opportunities for investment, immersive tech, and talent development.” Additional thanks to Catherine S. Diederich, Associate Director of MMCi, and Randy Sears, Operations Director of MMCi, for headline sponsoring the event and enabling innovation and collaboration at scale. These immersive experiences are vitally important to thread the needle of health innovation and drive impact across our communities and would not be possible without exceptional teamwork and collaboration.

Join us again at our next Happy Hour event on October 19th at the Raleigh Founded’s Warehouse District in Raleigh, NC, for a fireside chat with Jesse Tenenbaum, PhD and Chief Data Officer at the NC Department of Health and Human Services to discuss ‘Leveraging Data to Drive Policy and Improve Health’ – as we continue our journey to connect with the region’s brightest digital health innovators and transformers. There will be cold drinks, tasty bites, and ever-stimulating conversations around enabling the future of health, today!
