The HITLAB World Cup Challenge is back with a focus on emerging technology applications and systems that improve medical care and the provision of healthcare among women worldwide. With more than $1 billion in funding between 2015 and 2018, products and services supporting women are set to be the next big disruptors in the global healthcare market. Women are the strongest drivers of healthcare decisions for their families, yet there has been a frustrating lack of technologies that cater to their specific needs. A shift is underway uncovering a market ripe for investment and impact.

With an industry poised to reach $50B by 2025, femtech was an obvious theme for the 2019 HITLAB World Cup Challenge. In two short weeks, we saw over 100 individuals apply with concepts ranging from fertility to mental health solutions. The diverse applicant pool represented teams at the forefront of fulfilling or mitigating the unmet needs of women.

The five finalists will present live on May 21 at Pitch Day (SAP Hudson Yards) for the chance to win a total prize pool valued at up to $46K.
