Join us for the 2019 Triangle Global Health Annual Conference on October 16 in Durham, North Carolina! Our 2019 theme is One Health: Creating our Shared Future.

The One Health concept is a worldwide approach to expanding interdisciplinary collaboration and communication on all aspects of health for humans, animals, and the environment. The 2019 Triangle Global Health Annual Conference will focus on One Health. North Carolina brings a wealth of expertise and talent to implementing One Health across a spectrum of global health research, practice, policy and innovation. Throughout the conference we will examine how health for humans, animals, and the environment are inextricably linked, and explore how our members and their partners are taking a One Health approach to promoting a healthy and sustainable future for all.

The world gets smaller and more connected everyday as interwoven channels of trade, travel, and communication enable the flow of goods, people, and information around the globe. While these interactions and integrated value chains make the movement of materials and services more efficient – opening up doors of opportunity for billions of people – they also increase the transmission of disease and expose human and animal populations to health risks at an accelerating pace. At the same time, the tools and ability to prepare for and respond to these health risks are advancing.

This program will provide an opportunity for thought leaders, innovators, policy makers, students, and researchers to share their One Health experience and questions, with the goal of advancing the use of global health and public health tools to achieve sustainable wellbeing for all. The program sessions will include a mix of speakers, panels, workshops, and poster sessions which showcase current One Health best practices and encourage attendees and presenters to engage around key issues impacting human, animal, and environmental health across a spectrum of application areas.

We look forward to exploring the role of One Health in advancing global health and hope you will join us!
